Promo: Good Karma is the Best Revenge by Bleue Rose

1. Tell us about your latest release.

My latest book, Good Karma is the Best Revenge is the sequel to The Rogue Tangerine Tablet and will be released this summer. The story is a suspense novel and chronicles the busy lives of the globe-trotting Crenston family and the quirky, sometimes sinister, characters surrounding them. If you thrive on life’s unpredictable corkscrew turns, you will enjoy this twisty story.

Carlos Ortiz, the trusted accountant for illegal smugglers makes a run for it with his boss’s money when investigators close in on their illicit operations. Having to leave Paris in a mad rush, he leaves a legitimate restaurant business and his beloved girlfriend behind. Arriving in the Bahamas with a bought passport, he collects his various anonymous money wires to start a new life, but what is life worth without the people you love? He would give anything to see his girlfriend, and sister, but they are being closely shadowed by the police and his former boss, who wants him dead. When an opportunity presents itself to contact both women, he has some tough decisions to make. The risks involved are huge.

2. Without giving away any spoilers, give us a hint about a favorite scene.

One of my favorite scenes is in Chapter XXV Demolition Across the Board…House, Teeth and Tattoo.
It is the pivotal moment when Casimir Santos seals his first true male friendship, in his new home. A meaningful bond has been growing between him and a taxi driver he hired for a day on island. After numerous subsequent encounters, and an unusual offer of help in launching a new business, Casi offers Peter Camron his general manager job, a position of trust. Both mens’ lives change forever. Friendships enrich our existence and well-being, but some bonds go beyond. They are forever and unbreakable no matter what happens.

3. What inspired you to become a writer?

I have always enjoyed creative writing. The novel writing really took off when I finally had time to devote to the craft. The stories have been percolating, waiting to come out for eons.

4. What is a typical writing day for you like?

Typically, I need a block of time. I prefer to take care of business, daily responsibilities and exercise in the morning, then settle down to write in the afternoon. A rainy or inclement afternoon is perfect. On a sunny day, I may take my laptop outdoors.

5. If you weren’t a writer, what would you be doing?

Writing is not my primary job. I work as a gemologist/jeweler. I design, hand-make and sell fine jewelry. I love the inherent beauty of gems and I enjoy the challenge of designing a unique setting for a remarkable stone. I find it rewarding when a client walks away with a piece they love.

6. Do you have any interesting writing quirks or habits?

Not at all. My needs are simple–a laptop, a comfortable armchair, and a warm or cold beverage, depending on the season. Music in the background totally works for me.
I am not easily distracted by background noises when I’m focused on what I’m doing.

7. What has been one of the most surprising things you’ve learned as a published author?

Finding your niche of readers is not a given…..it takes hard work.

8. What authors or friends influenced you in helping you become a writer?

My inspiration came from my parents, my children, great teachers, and reading….. lots of reading. I cross genres and enjoy a variety of different styles and subjects.

9. Do you have any favorite authors that you like to read?

I have a special love for mystery and the unknown– J.K.Rowling, John Grisham, Stieg Larsson, Stephen King, Barbara Kingfisher, Kathryn Stockett, they all appeal to me for different reasons.

10. What other hobbies or interests do you have?

My interests, like my genre-hopping, are far-reaching. I have an incurable passion for all the arts as that is where my training lies. Creativity is in my genes.

11. Can you tell us about what’s coming up next after this for you writing wise?

I am working on two projects simultaneously, the third book in this series, Island Allure and Black Magic focuses on the perils of life undercover and the dangers of black magic. My other project is a suspense/romance novel that takes place in New York and Hong Kong. Imperial Jade Fever centers around the jewelry trade, its beauty and its occasional shady practices.

12. How can readers connect with you online?

I am happy to connect with my readers…..
